Requirement and Responsibilities

Must be able to teach and communicate subject concepts with practical experimentation.

Must be proficient with the use of ICT and should be willing to develop new strategies which aid learning and assessment.

Must be willing to work with colleagues; sharing resources, developing personally via collegiate interaction, and maintaining a supportive environment for everyone.

Should be experienced in teaching the full A level syllabus, preferably with the Cambridge International Examination 9702 A level and 0625 IGCSE.

Should have awareness of the needs of EAL learners because a large population of the students is non-native English speakers.

The ability to identify students who need support and the commitment to offer extra support outside normal lesson time to enable such students to meet up with others as well as to attain their full potential.

The ability to tutor able students beyond the A level syllabus and also engage in subject-related after-school activities such as the Engineering Society and the Physics Olympiad.

The ability to prepare academic references or recommendations for Sixth Form students as part of their university application also may be required to assist students with the writing of personal statements.

Must be willing to conduct regular revision exercises for students outside normal lesson periods.

Must be willing to analyze the outcome of lessons during and after sessions. Using the results to plan subsequent lessons.

Should have an unflinching passion for science and a drive to make children advance in their knowledge of science despite their knowledge level.
